Physiotherapy assessment is the initial step in a patient's physiotherapy journey, where the physiotherapist evaluates the patient's condition, including their movement patterns, pain levels, strength, range of motion, functional abilities, and short and long term goals. This assessment helps the physiotherapist to identify the underlying causes of the patient's problems and develop a personalized treatment plan.
What does it include?
While everyone's session is a little different, typically physiotherapy assessment typically includes the following steps:
During a follow-up appointment, your physiotherapist will likely reassess your condition and progress since your last visit. They may ask about any changes in symptoms or pain levels, and may perform a physical exam to check your range of motion, strength, and flexibility. Based on their assessment, they may modify your treatment plan or give you new exercises to perform at home.
The length of a follow-up appointment can vary depending on your needs and treatment plan, but typically lasts between 30-60 minutes. Your Physiotherapist will guide and educated you on how long your follow up visits will be, based on the required treatment needed.
Initial Assessment - $120
Reassessment - $90
Follow up 30 Minutes - $70
Follow up 45 Minutes - $90
Follow up 60 Minutes - $120 ( complex cases )
A re-assessment is required if there is a new injury that you would like the Physiotherapist to address and treat, or you have been out the clinic for 6 months.
