Initial Physiotherapy Assessment 60 minutes $120.00

Physiotherapy assessment is the initial step in a patient's physiotherapy journey, where the physiotherapist evaluates the patient's condition, including their movement patterns, pain levels, strength, range of motion, functional abilities, and short and long term goals. This assessment helps the physiotherapist to identify the underlying causes of the patient's problems and develop a personalized treatment plan.

What does it include?

While everyone's session is a little different, typically physiotherapy assessment typically includes the following steps:

  1. Patient history: The physiotherapist will ask the patient questions about their medical history, current condition, symptoms, and any relevant lifestyle factors.
  2. Physical examination: The physiotherapist will assess the patient's posture, joint mobility, muscle strength, flexibility, and functional abilities. They may also perform special tests to evaluate specific areas of concern.
  3. Diagnosis: Based on the patient's history and physical examination, the physiotherapist will make a diagnosis and explain the condition to the patient.
  4. Treatment plan: The physiotherapist will develop a treatment plan that is tailored to the patient's needs and goals. This may include exercises, manual therapy, education, and other interventions.
  5. Follow-up: The physiotherapist will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

Physiotherapy Follow Up Visits, what should i expect?

During a follow-up appointment, your physiotherapist will likely reassess your condition and progress since your last visit. They may ask about any changes in symptoms or pain levels, and may perform a physical exam to check your range of motion, strength, and flexibility. Based on their assessment, they may modify your treatment plan or give you new exercises to perform at home.

The length of a follow-up appointment can vary depending on your needs and treatment plan, but typically lasts between 30-60 minutes. Your Physiotherapist will guide and educated you on how long your follow up visits will be, based on the required treatment needed.
